Scotland in Spring is one of the best places on earth to explore by motorcycle.

Our tour starts on Friday morning at Allan Jefferies showroom in Baildon and follows a scenic route through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, pausing for brunch at the Hartside Café. Our destination for the first overnight stop is the Buccleuch Arms in Moffat, a biker friendly inn with an excellent reputation.

Saturday morning sees us taking the M74 motorway north to quickly bypass Glasgow before joining the A82, crossing Rannock Moor we then descend the famous pass of Glencoe. Then head north east following Loch Linnhe passing through Fort William and onto Loch Ness and our hotel for the next three nights – the 4 star Lovat hotel in the picturesque village of Fort Augustus.

Fort Augustus is an excellent central location for exploring the highlands, enabling us to choose routes to suit the best weather. Options available are the Islands of Mull, and Skye, the superb peninsula of the Ardnamurchan, the highest navigable pass on the uk mainland the Applecross pass (Bealach na Ba). Ullapool and north riding sections of the newly established West coast 500, Kylesku, Drumbeg, Stoer, Lochinver to name a few. Having made the most of 2 day’s we leave Fort Augustus and head southwest following sea lochs for our last nights stay in the highlands, pausing for lunch at the scenic location where the Crinan canal enters the sea. Our last hotel for the trip is the 4 star Loch Fyne Hotel and spa ( so bring your swimming costume)

Wednesday, our final day on tour, takes us south though the Argyll Forests to Dunoon to catchthe short ferry crossing to Greenock and then south through the Scottish Borders and home.

This short visit to the highlands will leave you wanting more, the riding is superb which is why thousands of bikers from all over the world visit every year.

Here is a list of the possible ride out’s on the Sunday and Monday; the famous Apple Cross Pass, the highest navigable road in the UK, the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle and Skye road, the Gleneld Mountain Road, The Isle of Skye and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. We also aim to ride part of the newly established Westcoast 500 motorcycle route north of Ullapool crossing the Kylesku Bridge.

On Tuesday morning we leave Loch Ness and ride south skirting the coast and sea loch, pausing for lunch at the start of the Crinal Canal. Our hotel for tonight is the 4 star Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa (so bring your swimming costume..)
